Sumter Fire Explorer Post 2911

Growing, Learning, Helping, Exploring

Exploring is the youth division of the Boy Scouts of America. Explorers are young men and women, ages 14 through 20, who join Explorer Posts sponsored businesses, industry, professional societies, government, labor, sports, clubs, and various community organizations.

The program of these Explorer Posts matches the interests of youth with the adult expertise and program resources of the organization. Each Explorer Post is unique, as it is developed around the interest of the youth and the interests and capabilities of adults.

Sumter Fire Explorers spend time at local Fire Stations learning about the Fire Service and training along with experienced Firefighters and EMTs. We are planning to meet with other Explorer Post and participate in Field Meets. Some of our Fire Explorers go on to become career firefighters.

Interested youths are invited to come by and visit us during our bi-weekly meetings and see what it’s all about.

Contact Post Advisor Janet Weiss at (352) 569-4449 or call Sumter County Fire Rescue at (352) 793-0212.
