C-48 E Road Project Ribbon Cutting

County Commissioners, County Officials and citizens gathered together for the C-48 E Ribbon Cutting Ceremony, located at Central Beef, 571 W. Kings Highway, Center Hill, FL
On February 24, 2009, the Sumter County Board of County Commissioners approved the Local Certification Qualification Agreement with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT). The agreement facilitated the flow of ARRA "Stimulus" funds to the County which resulted in the resurfacing and repair of C-48 E.
On November 24, 2009, the Sumter County Board of County Commissioners awarded the C-48 E Road Project contract to C. W. Roberts, Inc. The total cost of the project was $661,988.15. The contract included milling and resurfacing of the main line roadway and 2’ shoulders. In addition, guardrails were installed as well as improvements to existing guardrails, 2’ shoulders sidewalks, curb and gutter installation inside the City of Center Hill.
The project was 3.778 miles in length and start at 200’ East of SR 471 and ends 100’ East of East Kings Avenue (48 E) in Center Hill.
