The Fire Prevention Code Board of Appeals is created pursuant to the Sumter County Fire Prevention Code which references the Florida Fire Prevention Code, which incorporates National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 1 - Uniform fire Code, Chapter 1.10 of the Uniform Fire Code which is adopted in Section 6-160 of the Sumter County Fire Prevention Ordinance defines the establishment and membership of the Board of Appeals.  The Fire Code Board of Appeals consists of seven members.  The initial establishment of the seven member board terms will be staggered.  After the initial appointment, all subsequent members will serve a three (3) year term.
