Sumter County Boards & Committees

Sumter County appoints citizens to various boards and committees that relate to County Government activities.

Membership on these boards is voluntary and involves no remuneration. Serving as a member on one of these boards or committees is an excellent way to become involved in your county and learn more about Sumter County Government. You must be a Sumter County citizen to apply.

Vacancies and appointee terms that are ending will be advertised as a vacancy at the next Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) meeting. No applications will be considered with this advertisement to allow the public to be aware of and apply for the vacancy. The meeting after this advertisement will be when the BOCC will consider any submitted applications for appointment.
