Sumter County provides high quality service to its citizens while providing transparency in the use of taxpayer dollars. To ensure Public Safety, the County invests heavily in the Fire & EMS Division, Sheriff's Office, and The Villages Public Safety Department. The County invests in capital improvement projects to enhance the quality of life for citizens. Tax dollars are also used for operating expenses for other areas of the County's government, including various services provided to citizens. The chart below shows the budgeted allocation of funds to each area of the government for Fiscal Year 2017/18.
