"Improved Property” is a parcel that has a structure/building on it,(it is no longer a vacant piece of land). This does not relate to improvements (window replacements, additions) made to any of the structures located on the parcel.

An impact fee is a one time charge applied to new construction.
The purpose of the fee is to fund capital projects for roads (such as construction, land acquisition,).
Impact fees can be charges for parks, schools, jails, ambulances and other infrastructure needs that may occur due to new development. Funds collected cannot be used for operation, maintenance, or repair to capital facilities.
From a health standpoint, mosquitoes are known carriers of encephalitis, malaria, yellow fever, and dengue viruses.
Mosquito-borne diseases cause more than one million deaths each year around the world. Mosquito bites can infect a pet with the deadly canine heartworm.
Mosquitoes can migrate up to 15 miles, which overrides local larval control efforts. This results in the need for adult mosquito control.
The insecticides being used today are not only highly effective, but also degrade rapidly.
Pet stations are located at these parks in order to keep the parks clean and sanitary.
The Sumter County Citizens’ Drop-off Area has a Single-Stream Recycling Program and accepts the following recyclables at no cost to the residents of Sumter County:
1. Plastic Bottles #1 through #7 2. Steel Cans and Empty Aerosol Cans3. Aluminum Cans, Aluminum Foil and Pie Tins4. Flattened Cardboard5. Mixed paper (including magazines, newsprint, junk mail, and office paper)6. Paperboard (cereal boxes, snack boxes, etc.)
Other recyclables that are accepted at no charge:
1. Clean scrap metal2. Batteries3. Used oil4. Oil filters (quantity of 1 to 4)
Single-Stream Recycling bins are located just to the south of the CDA building and are for pre-sorted recyclable household items.
Tires are also recycled, but there is a charge for each tire. See the fee schedule for pricing.

Veterans with a service connected disability or in-country Vietnam service are entitled to enroll via VA Form10-10EZ (available at our office or any VA healthcare facility.
Other veterans may qualify based on a financial means test.
Reserve or National Guard veterans must have served on active duty for other than training purposes.
All development activity and use of property must be consistent with the Sumter County Land Development Code.
Typically, the zoning approvals take approximately 30-45 days. Depending upon the specific zoning approval request, the review and approval may be by staff, the Zoning and Adjustment Board, or the Board of County Commissioners.
